The Black Future
A newsletter that explores the depths of an unforeseen future and the future of the black experience.
Compared to the patient pace of most of human history the speed of innovation has quickened dramatically in modern times and even more so in the last 50 years. Today, we are at the precipice of multiple technological and sociological revolutions that will assuredly make our lives today seem as foreign and antiquated to the next generation as the Romans do to us.
The Black Future is a newsletter that explores the moral issues, social challenges, and cultural transformations that come from innovation, specifically as they relate to black people. We believe that innovation has the potential to create a better future for everyone, but it is important to be aware of the potential pitfalls and complex repercussions of the waves of innovation as they reach our shores.
I will be sharing essays, interviews, and other forms of content that examine the following topics:
The ethical development & implications of new technologies
The impact of innovation on black communities
The ways in which innovation can be used to address social and racial injustice
The role of black people in shaping the future of innovation
My goal is to create a platform for black voices and perspectives, and I aim to create a safe space for shared opinions!
